Launched at The Houses of Parliament in 2015 by Cosmopolitan Magazine and Karma Nirvana, this promo cover utilised the plastic bag commonly associated with women’s magazines. It campaigned for an annual National Day of Memory for the British girls who have lost their lives to ‘honour’ killings, girls like Shafilea Ahmed who was suffocated with a plastic bag by her parents for refusing an arranged marriage. A National Day of Memory has now been declared on 14th July.
