On 24 June 2020, FCB Hamburg became CarlNann GmbH, following a 100-per-cent management buyout by the two managing directors, Michael Carl and Christoph Nann, ushering in a new brand with a new mind-set and a new idea. The logo resembles a well-placed punchline. No Chi-Chi, no blah, no pastel-mauve something or other, no lightning, no lighthouse, no bolt. Simply CarlNann. The logo takes up the entire space within the defined limits – like a good idea.
